Logan Pass Shuttle applies at Glacier on some 2026 dates. Entrance is $35 per vehicle in peak season, $25 off-season. Check any visit date against the official 2026 rules.

The 2026 season at Glacier

This is what applies across the published season. Use the date checker below for a specific day.

An entrance fee or accepted pass is required on every visit, separately from anything below.

  1. Park entrance

    Required

    You must pay the park entrance fee or show an accepted pass.

    • On January 1, 2026 the seasonal rate applies: $25 — Winter entrance rate (Jan 1, 2026 – Apr 30, 2026).
    • Outside that window the standard rate is $35 per private vehicle.
    • $25 per private vehicle January 1 - April 30, 2026, good for 7 days. Motorcycle $20. Per person on foot or bicycle $15. The summer rates ($35 vehicle / $30 motorcycle / $20 per person) begin May 1, 2026. Non-U.S. residents aged 16 and over pay an additional $100 per person unless admitted with an Annual or America the Beautiful pass.
    • An America the Beautiful pass covers this entrance fee. It does not cover any reservation or permit below.
    • The standard rate is the summer rate. Winter rates apply November 1 to April 30: $25 vehicle, $20 motorcycle, $15 per person. All standard passes are good for seven days and are non-transferable. If the entrance station is unstaffed a self-registration area is available. Non-U.S. residents aged 16 and over pay an additional $100 per person on top of the standard entrance fee, unless admitted with an Annual or America the Beautiful pass.

      • The parking permit is free. It is obtained on arrival at the kiosk, not on Recreation.gov.
      • Overnight parking is not permitted at Logan Pass except with a park permit issued to permitted backcountry users and guests of Granite Park Chalet.
      • Visitors planning longer day hikes from Logan Pass are directed to use the ticketed shuttle instead.
      • The September 7 end date is provisional: the park says time-limited parking may continue past Labor Day, matching any extension of the shuttle system.
      • A campground or lodging reservation does not extend the three-hour parking limit. Only a backcountry permit or a Granite Park Chalet booking allows overnight parking at Logan Pass.

      Applies to Apgar to Logan Pass section of Going-to-the-Sun Road

      • No fee beyond the entrance pass.
      • Westbound Logan Pass to Apgar is prohibited only between 3 pm and 6 pm.
      • The restriction only applies to whatever portion of the road is designated as open to motor vehicles.
      • No overnight booking exempts a cyclist from these hour restrictions.
    • Vehicle reservations: Vehicles may still be diverted from park entrances when areas become too congested.
    • Going-to-the-Sun Road alpine section closes: The road is open year-round near the West Entrance.

      • Non-refundable $1 Recreation.gov processing fee per ticket - the only cost of booking. Tickets are non-transferable and photo ID may be requested.
      • A shuttle ticket is not needed to enter Glacier, and not needed to reach Logan Pass. You may still drive your own vehicle up Going-to-the-Sun Road and park at Logan Pass; the park states that vehicle reservations are not required anywhere in the park in 2026. The ticket is required only to board the Logan Pass Shuttle.
      • Infants under 2 may ride as a lap child without a ticket; children 2 and older need their own seat and ticket.
      • Avalanche Lake and the Trail of the Cedars are NOT accessible by park shuttle in 2026.
      • The shuttle is day-use only and is not intended for overnight trips.
      • The September 7 end date is provisional: if operational funding is available, the park will evaluate extending the shuttle system beyond Labor Day. No extension had been announced as of July 29, 2026.
      • A campground or lodging reservation does not include a shuttle ticket. Every rider needs their own ticket booked on Recreation.gov.

    • Lodging or service reservation guarantees entry during congestion closures. Delays may still occur even with a lodging or service reservation. Only Granite Park Chalet guests and permitted backcountry users may park overnight at Logan Pass.

      • Day hikers do not need a backcountry permit but must use the ticketed shuttle for long hikes from Logan Pass because of the three-hour parking limit.

An America the Beautiful pass is accepted here. It covers the entrance fee only. It does not cover a timed-entry permit, a vehicle reservation, a parking tag, a shuttle ticket, or an activity permit.

A pass covers the entrance fee. It does not cover the ticketed Logan Pass Shuttle ($1 per ticket), booked separately on Recreation.gov. Resident Annual $80, Non-Resident Annual $250, Senior Annual $20, Senior Lifetime $80; Military, Access and 4th Grade free. An Annual or America the Beautiful pass waives the $100 per-person non-U.S.-resident fee. From 2026 the servicewide fee-free days apply to U.S. residents only.

From 2026 a fee-free day waives the entrance fee for U.S. residents. Other visitors still pay it, plus the $100 nonresident fee where it applies. A fee-free day never waives a reservation, a permit, or a booking fee unless the park says so.

Do I need a reservation for Glacier?
No. Nothing is required to enter Glacier National Park itself in 2026, but parts of the park are booked separately: Logan Pass Shuttle from Jul 1, 2026 to Sep 7, 2026, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. It applies to Express service to Logan Pass from Apgar Visitor Center and Lake McDonald Lodge (west side) and St. Mary Visitor Center and Rising Sun Picnic Area (east side). A shuttle ticket is not needed to enter Glacier, and not needed to reach Logan Pass. You still pay the entrance fee ($35 per vehicle in peak season, $25 off-season) or show an accepted pass.
Is there an entrance fee at Glacier?
