Privacy
No accounts, advertising profiles, sale of personal information, or location tracking. Your visit requirements are calculated in your browser.
What is stored
One thing, and only in your own browser: a short list of parks you have recently looked at, kept in localStorage so the search box can offer them again. It never leaves your device and is not readable by us. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, logins, or profiles.
- No advertising, retargeting, or affiliate tracking.
- No name, address, payment information, or precise location.
- No email list.
Aggregate analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate, cookieless page and referrer counts. We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand overall acquisition and page performance. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled; Google Analytics may use first-party measurement cookies according to your browser settings.
Page measurement strips the query string before it is sent. The visit date, selected park area, activity, and any free-text value are never included in analytics events. A park-check event contains only the park slug, and official-link events contain only the park code, link type, and destination host.
Location
The site never requests your location. Browser geolocation is additionally disabled at the HTTP header level, so a future change cannot start prompting you by accident.
Your visit date
The answer itself is computed in your browser, against data already downloaded with the page. No request is made to work out what you need, and we run no analytics that would record it.
Being precise about the one exception: the date appears in the address (?date=2026-08-15) so a link is shareable, which means it is part of the URL your browser requests when you arrive from the home page or open a link someone sent you. Like any URL, that path can appear in the host’s ordinary operational logs, described below. It is stripped from our analytics. Changing the date on a park page does not make a new request. If you would rather it never appear at all, edit the date out of the address before sharing.
Server logs
The site is served by a hosting provider that keeps ordinary technical request logs — IP address, user agent, requested path — for operational and security purposes. We do not use those logs to build advertising profiles or sell personal information.
Links to other sites
Booking links point to official National Park Service, Recreation.gov, or NPS-designated operator sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices and this policy does not extend to them.
