Release detail: Not a permit. The closure exactly tracks the published shuttle season: March 7 - November 28, 2026, and again December 26, 2026 - January 2, 2027. Private vehicles may drive the Scenic Drive only when the shuttle is not running (November 29 - December 25, and after January 2 until the next season starts).

Fee detail: No fee beyond the entrance pass.

Exceptions and limits

  • Zion Lodge and Canyon Trail Rides guests with reservations may drive to designated parking areas using a pass or code issued with the reservation.
  • Bicycles are allowed on the Scenic Drive.
  • The Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway, Kolob Terrace Road and Kolob Canyons Scenic Drive remain open to private vehicles.
