Release detail: SEASONAL LOTTERY 2026 (windows open 8 a.m. MT, close 11:59 p.m. MT): hikes Mar 1-May 31 - apply Feb 13-25, issued Feb 26; Jun 1-Aug 31 - apply Apr 1-20, issued Apr 25; Sep 1-Nov 30 - apply Jul 1-20, issued Jul 25; Dec 1-Feb 28 2027 - apply Oct 1-20, issued Oct 25. DAY-BEFORE LOTTERY: opens daily 12:01 a.m. MT, closes 3 p.m. MT the day before the hike; permits issued 4 p.m. MT the same day.
Fee detail: $6 non-refundable application fee covering up to 6 people, plus $3 per person charged only if a permit is awarded. Seasonal-lottery permits are refundable ($3 per person) if cancelled at least two days before; day-before-lottery permits are fully non-refundable and cannot be changed. Cancelled seasonal permits roll into the day-before lottery.
Exceptions and limits
- No permit is needed to hike to Scout Lookout.
- No permit is needed to ride the park shuttle or to enter the park.
- No permit is needed to hike the Narrows upstream from the Temple of Sinawava.

Everyone who hikes Angels Landing needs to have a permit. You can apply for a permit the day before your planned hike. This lottery opens every day at 12:01 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m. Mountain Time (MT). We will issue permits at 4 p.m. MT on Monday.
